terminal degree

Why no prints for sale?

Received a kind inquiry on Instagram the other day asking if I still sold prints. Short answer: not currently. I still have a small print shop, but I don’t spend much time there these days

I plan to print again someday, but I’m currently knee deep in scholarly research and studies...I am working on my doctoral degree. The pursuit of this terminal degree means that I simply do not have time to print at the moment.

Trust that I miss printing terribly. Sometimes, when I take a short break from my studies, I’ll sneak into the workshop just to play with my founts. But, locking up type and inking the press–and the paper trimming and the cleanup that accompanies a solid print run–is a commitment. And, I’ve committed to my doctoral studies...for another two years...

I thought I'd be cranking out prints for the holidays. But, nope

My apologies to those of you who inquired about print availability. I won't bore your with details, but let's just say there are a lot of things happening in my life right now that are keeping me from the printshop.

This means that letterpress has been placed on the back burner for a while. The print below pretty much sums up my life right now.

Damn, I miss printing. I'll get back to it one day. 'Til then....

The holiday are now over, and some of us are now participating in DryJanuary and tidying up with the Kondo method. Whatever makes you happy.

It’s good to have goals and challenges. But, I don’t make resolutions. I prefer to think of them as intentions. Maybe just low-key executions.

One personal intention is printing more of what makes me happy. Another is decluttering my digital life. To that end, I will be offering some prints for sale through my personal Instagram account.
